Gaston County pet pantry is completely empty: Here’s how to help

GASTON COUNTY N.C. (WBTV) – A local animal shelter is asking for help after its community pet pantry was completely emptied.

Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement said its pet pantry was completely empty on Friday, Aug. 28. The pantry helps provide food to hungry pets belonging to families in need throughout Gaston County.

A spokesperson said the pantry runs entirely through donations, and its greatest need right now is wet and dry cat food. Community members who want to help can donate dog or cat food through the shelter’s online donation link or drop off food in person.

Donation hours:

• Tuesday to Friday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Gaston County pet pantry helps keep pets fed while their owners are experiencing financial hardship.

Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement encouraged anyone who is able to donate to help restock the pantry and support families and their pets in the community.
